I lost a piece of my heart today.
I can't believe you're gone. We all loved you so much. So much.

6 lovely bits o' feedback.:
I am so sorry to hear that Dr. Labriola died. I know that he was important to you. Can I ask what happened?
I'm so sorry for your loss. When you can I'd love to hear the story that made him an important part of your life. And btw you look lovely in that photo.
So, so sorry to hear about your loss. Know that we've got you and the family of your friend in our hearts and prayers. And what I've come to see is, over time, what was once thought to be a loss, is actually a widening of the heart. And you'll feel held by the one you thought you had lost. It still hurts, I know. But, hold on and he will hold you.
Laura, I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend. I do not know who he is, but obviously he was very special to you. My sympathies to you hun.
I miss him terribly as well and am not sure what I am to do with myself... I've always felt like Dante in the presence of Virgil when I edited manuscripts for him and when he was helping me with my own research (he was directing my dissertation). I'm not sure how I'll finish crossing "the Inferno" without his guidance. I was his research assistant for 2 1/2 years, and his student since 1997, so I feel for you. It's a familiar grief.

I know. I couldn't believe it when I heard it.
Unfortunately, I never had the pleasure of having Dr. Labriola for class. I didn't really even get the chance to talk to him much. But he seemed like such a kind and wonderful man and a great professor. I have such a respect for him.
He was a great friend to the Red Masquers and the theater program at Duquesne. Even those of us who didn't know him well are really going to miss him.
